This holiday season, something remarkable is happening at Nana Baby.
Two generous donors — The Anasetti Family and Scott Martin with Caribbean Packaging — have stepped forward with a combined $20,000 matching gift. They believe deeply in the mission of Nana Baby and in the futures of the children we serve. They’ve asked the community to join them in doubling this impact, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000.
This means every contribution made to Nana Baby during our Holiday Match will go twice as far.
And this year, that support is more important than ever.
Why This Matters Right Now
Nana Baby has been a safe, loving home for children in crisis for more than 40 years. But our work is growing. The needs of young people in the Virgin Islands are changing, and we must grow with them.
We are currently expanding our home to include dedicated space for teens — a group that is often overlooked and underserved. Teenagers in care need stability, privacy, and dignity just as much as the younger children we shelter. Too often, they end up placed far from home or in settings not designed to support their emotional and developmental needs.
At Nana Baby, we want to change that.
Why Teens Deserve Their Own Space
Teenagers coming into placement have already experienced disruption, uncertainty, and, in many cases, profound loss. When they arrive at our door, they need a space where they can breathe. A space where they can feel safe. A space where they are not grouped with toddlers or babies — but can instead have an environment tailored to their age, growth, and healing.
Our expansion will give teens:
- Separate bedrooms designed for privacy and personal space
- Age-appropriate programming and support services
- A calm, structured living environment they can take pride in
- A chance to stay on island, in their community, close to school and family connections
Creating this new wing is not just construction — it is a commitment to dignity. It tells our teens, “You matter. You deserve comfort, safety, and a home that honors who you are.”
